Spring 2013
“My desire to make art stems from a basic need to validate my existence. Visual art is a tool I employ as a form of expression and documentation of my emotions and perception of my time on earth. My paintings and sculptures deal with experiences tied to relationships that continue to shape my human heart. The spiritual refuge I find in the stillness of nature inspires me. Nature is textured, irregular, rough, deep, smooth, polished, simple, earthy, sensual and unpretentious. These are the elements I embrace in life, and those which I want to exude from my art.” – Isabelle Truchon
